When I built this web site I had a lot of links going to other web sites. I didn’t like the fact that they loaded in the same window. With the target attribute not being valid XHTML Strict, I had no way to fix this. I went ahead and made this External Links script, which not only opens outgoing links in a new window, but also marks them as .external so I can clearly style them separately from other links in the site.
